WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (May 21, 2015) – Today, the Joint Board overseeing the delivery of the State Street Redevelopment Project will issue a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to interested firms. Interested parties may download the RFQ document at http://www.statestreetwl.com/rfq-download.
The RFQ process will help the Joint Board, established under the 2014 interlocal agreement between the university and the City of West Lafayette, narrow down its search for a firm to complete the State Street Redevelopment Project.
David Buck, chairman of the Joint Board and West Lafayette’s public works director, said “The RFQ is incredibly important to the decision-making process because it tells us who is qualified to take on a project of this magnitude, and if they’ll ultimately do what’s best for West Lafayette and Purdue University.”
Interested firms are expected to submit a statement of qualifications by July 2 outlining their design, construction and financial capabilities to be considered for the project. The Joint Board, along with its legal, financial and technical advisers, will review the proposals and short list the interested parties to three to four firms.
Once the RFQ process is complete, the Joint Board will then release a Request for Proposals (RFP) to the selected firms in early summer with final proposals due by the end of the 2015 calendar year. The State Street Redevelopment Project is scheduled to be completed by December 2018.
The State Street Redevelopment Project is a collaborative effort between the City of West Lafayette and Purdue University to improve quality of life by transforming State Street into a more desirable destination for the local community and visitors.
