WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Oct. 14, 2015) – The State Street Redevelopment Project is taking its next step forward after the approval Tuesday (Oct. 13) of the final Request for Proposals (RFP). The City of West Lafayette and Purdue University Joint Board overseeing the project issued the RFP to the teams competing for the project.
“We continue to work together to achieve our common goal of establishing State Street as a place that reflects the vibrant sprit and personality of our community,” City of West Lafayette Mayor John Dennis said. “Issuing the final RFP brings us another step closer to improving the quality of life for our citizens, students and visitors through this transformative project and the shared vision it represents.”
“This is an exciting moment on the timeline of a very exciting project,” Purdue University President Mitch Daniels said. “Experience tells us that competitions of this sort tend to produce creative and often important ideas for savings and project enhancements. We are eager to see what these three competitors are going to deliver.”
The City of West Lafayette and Purdue University are using a public-private partnership (P3) approach to complete the State Street Redevelopment Project. The P3 project delivery method offers significant opportunities to save time and money that are not available using a more traditional approach.
